In Leviticus, “holy” means to be pure and clean by heart. In other words, in order to be holy, the people of the time of the Old Testament had to try to imitate God the Father, that is, Yahweh. The most important aspect of holiness in the book of Leviticus is that God the Father never wanted or tried to separate His chosen people from the other people whom God the Father did not choose. Rather, Yahweh wanted and tried to choose His people in such a way that His chosen people would guide the other people to respect, love and worship Yahweh and no other images, idols or pictures of false Gods and Goddesses.
